TEKNASIUM FACILITATOR AND CERTIFIED TECHNOLOGY TEACHER:
Dawn has 16 Years Home School Teaching experience and Texas Teaching Certification in Technology Grade 6-12, Business Education Grade 6-12 and Technology Application Grade 9 - 12. She has also earned an MBA.
For more than 16 years, Dawn Ross has been participating in the home schooling community of Rockwall, more than 2,500 families in all. Not only did she home school her two daughters but she was also senior class sponsor and was responsible for organizing and coordinating with the other parents in the Social activities, the Senior trip, fund raising, and the Graduation Program. Dawn was very active in several home school support groups in the Dallas area and two Co- Op’s, and also taught in Co-Op programs for Business Education, and Technology Application specialty classes. Dawn also taught private violin lessons in the second Co-Op for 10 years. Most recently, she taught in the Mesquite Independent School District in a SMART Lab for the 2014-2015 school year. Dawn brings the creative experience of revamping station offerings in a Lab that was allowed to stagnate, increasing the station offerings from 15 to 23 by purchasing new equipment and redesigning outdated curriculum. This experience has given her invaluable insight into the kits, consumables, and other projects available in the market.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Data Processing and a Master of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University she worked as a programmer for 5 years supporting Accounting systems, Fixed Assets Systems, Inventory and Consolidated Reporting at the Corporate level. She was also the Manager of the Data Processing Department for the Richardson ISD for a year and a half. When the opportunity arose, Dawn actively sought out opportunities to plan, write and conduct training classes on the various systems. She brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the facilitated learning process at the CORE™!
